In 2007, the Fund awarded over $165,000 to 23 organizations for the projects described below.

Achievekids: Community Integration program providing opportunities for students with developmental or emotional disabilities to be part of their community through community outings, and jobs in order to gain skills needed to live independently.     www.achievekids.org

Acterra: Green@Home project which will engage & empower people to take concrete steps to reduce home energy use & greenhouse gas emissions.    www.acterra.org

Art in Action: Art in Action visual arts program at St. Elizabeth Seton School, East Palo Alto Stanford Academy and Green Oaks School.     www.artinaction.org

Avenidas: Telephone Outreach “How Can We Help?” program seeking to contact the oldest and most fail seniors in the mid-Peninsula to provide support & contact information for needed services.    www.avenidas.org

Businesses United in Investing, Lending, and Development (BUILD): On-Site Entrepreneurship Instructor at Menlo-Atherton High School for economically disadvantaged youth.  www.build.org

Canopy: Provides stipends to at-risk East Palo Alto youth for their help in implementing a major tree-planting effort in East Palo Alto.   www.canopy.org

Cardiac Therapy Foundation: Community Outreach Program that would offer two cardiovascular risk-reduction/wellness programs to local community members.   www.cardiactherapy.org

Children’s Health Council: Art Therapy program for children with complex medical problems.   www.chconline.org

Collective Roots Garden Project: Support program offerings at East Palo Alto Charter School and Willow Oaks Elementary School providing nearly 650 students with garden-based education.   www.collectiveroots.org

Community Association for Rehabilitation (C-A-R)Mental health support, counseling, and resources to parents who are facing crises in their lives complicated by the challenges of raising a child who has special needs.   www.c-a-r.org

Each One Reach One: General operating support for programs serving incarcerated San Mateo youth with GED-tutoring and a job re-entry component in partnership with OICW.   www.eoro.org

Environmental Volunteers: Collaborative program with Marine Science Institute to offer bay ecology & marine ecology programs in Palo Alto area classrooms.   www.EVols.org

Fresh Lifelines for Youth (FLY): Legal Eagle program which is a combination of Legal Education & Leadership Training programs for at-risk teens.   www.flyprogram.org

Hidden Villa: "Welcome to Nature" program for families to utilize Hidden Villa’s farm and wilderness to learn more about food sources and to explore nature “close to home”.  www.hiddenvilla.org

International Institute of San Francisco: East Palo Alto & East Menlo Park program: "Legal Immigration Services for Families" project educating low-income immigrants in East Palo Alto and neighboring areas about their rights and responsibilities under the law.  www.iisf.org

League of Women Voters of Palo Alto and South San Mateo County:"New Voices" program giving students a voice through broadcast media to encourage civic engagement.   www.lwvssmc.org   www.newvoicesforyouth.org

MayView Community Health Center: Group Medical Appointment program providing in-depth appointments on medical issues for low-income individuals.   www.mayview.org

Music in the Schools Foundation: Music-instruction classes to 5th grade students in the Ravenswood City School District through Music through Literacy project.  www.musicintheschools.org

Nuestra Casa: "Parents as Leaders" program which builds strong & effective parent leadership to advocate for quality education in East Palo Alto & raise social-emotionally competent children & youth.   www.nuestracasa.org

Palo Alto Downtown Streets Team: General program support to help people re-enter the workforce who have been homeless or out of work by getting them work experience through cleaning streets of downtown PA in exchange for food & shelter vouchers. www.downtownstreetsteam.com

Palo Alto Housing Corporation: Onsite Wellness program to serve elderly residents & other vulnerable adult residents with a mental health diagnosis.   www.paloaltohousingcorp.org

Pathways Hospice Foundation: Hospice care for un-and under-insured patients and their families.   www.pathwayshealth.org
